Who We Are
Clean Water America (CWA) is the largest national coalition solely dedicated to advocating on behalf of a long-term and sustainable local-state-federal partnership to ensure clean and safe water.
With over 100,000 individuals and more than 170 supporting groups -- representing environmental, conservation, labor, state, and industrial interests -- CWA uses its distinct voice to urge policymakers to support increased funding to improve America's water quality. CWA invites other organizations and individuals to join the CWA effort and help add momentum to this growing initiative.

CWA was initiated by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) to address the lack of clean and safe water funding in the face of an immense and expanding need. Our primary objective is to demonstrate broad-based national support to elected officials through an on-line activist community of organizations and individuals committed to protecting and improving America's water quality.
To accomplish this, we have launched a national outreach campaign advocating the creation of a dedicated, national clean water trust fund to be used solely for the protection and restoration of Americas waters and the infrastructure that supports it. CWA will continue to work with policymakers from coast-to-coast to restore a meaningful local-state-federal partnership in a manner that can meet the water quality challenges of the 21st Century.
